Emergency acceptors, POLO TYCOON and GOLDEN STATES were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.

LUCKY SIXTYSIX, a course scratching as it was sore off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

DARCI SUPER (S Salee), DAWNBREAKER (SU Lim) and FRANCES (CK Khaw) were all slow into stride.

DARCI SUPER was pulling hard and was difficult to settle in the early stages of the race.

TWILL GUY (HK Cheng) was obliged to race wide on the turn and entered the home straight wide.

RAISE ME UP (App A Saran) was hanging in at the top of the straight, resulting in the rider changing his whip to his left hand.  As a consequence, RAISE ME UP shifted out, finishing the race wide.  App A Saran was shown the video of his ride and warned to make a greater attempt to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. 

Jockey S Rosmizan, the rider of ROBBEN, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of ROBBEN revealed that it returned, exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor, AWATERE was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

VIJETA, PENNSYLVANIA and FRANKLY MY DEAR, all course scratching as they had a nail prick off hind foot, fever and was bruised off fore cannon respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SUNNY STAR (J Daniel) and MYSTICAL STAR (K Eirwan) were both slow into stride.

Jockey J Daniel, the rider of SUNNY STAR, was fined R250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip at the top of the straight.

App A Nazir, the rider of NEVERUNCONDITIONAL, reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer HY Cheng was questioned with regards to the improved performance of DESTINY CHILD (SU Lim) today.  He explained that on 2^nd February 2022, DESTINY CHILD was very fractious behind and in the barriers and it did not like the kick-back on the day.  Furthermore, he was surprised at today’s result.  The Stewards noted his explanation and his attention was drawn to the rules regarding “in-and-out” running (MRA Rule 117(3)).

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App A Azizi, the rider of BAGHDAD, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr T Asogan, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were:

• that he failed to make any serious attempt to ride BAGHDAD to his instructions which were to be midfield;
• that he failed to improve his position between the 1200M-mark and the 400M-mark when there was opportunity to do so.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the facts of this case, App A Azizi’s points of mitigation and his riding record.  App A Azizi was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months with effect from Sunday, 13^th February 2022 and to expire on             Sunday, 12^th June 2022, both days inclusive. In addition, he was fined a sum of RM10,000/- (Ringgit Malaysia Ten Thousand).  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6.45pm).

INVISIBLE, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Jockey CK Khaw replaced Jockey S Salee as the rider of LEESTOWN EXPRESS by order of the Stewards.

YES BOSSY (M Yusri) which was difficult to be boxed, delaying the start, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

MICHIKAWA (J Daniel) was slow to begin and will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

STAGESHOW (App S Hafis), SHADOW SPEED (App I Firdzriel) and CITY KNIGHT      (HK Cheng) were all slow into stride.

GOLD SKY BILLION, a course scratching as it was sore left knee, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

DISCRETELY RED (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly. 

PLACE YOUR BET (App YY Oon) jumped awkwardly outwards and was slow into stride.

The saddle on PLACE YOUR BET slipped backwards in the running.

SUPER WINNER (J Daniel) and PLACE YOUR BET, which raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey J Daniel, the rider of SUPER WINNER, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SUPER WINNER revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SACRED GURU (R Rueven) and ARC TRIUMPH (AM Aizat) both returned, having cast their off fore plate.

The State of Track was upgraded to “Good” after the running of this race.

GLENAFTON, a course scratching as it had a swollen right eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

LEOPARD ECLIPSE (CK Khaw) was inconvenienced on jumping when SHENG PROISIR (App A Saran) rolled inwards.

Shortly after the start, CENTURY SPEED (F Yap) rolled inwards onto IAMBUTTER (App I Firdzriel), resulting in COLOUR PAINT (K Eirwan) being inconvenienced.  Jockey F Yap was  shown the video of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Trainer CC Ooi, when questioned regarding the improved performance of RAGNAR            (AM Aizat) today, was unable to offer any tangible explanation.  He was advised that RAGNAR had built up a pattern of “in-and-out” running and should it run poorly in the future, the gelding may be suspended. 

STRAP MARKS, a course scratching as it bled during the trial on 8^th February 2022, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

TRAFALGAR, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail bind injury both fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

FLYING BABY (App I Firdzriel) was slow into stride.

TILSWORTH MICK (App A Nazir) was pulling hard and difficult to settle in the early stages. 

GENERAL NIX (App A Azizi) brushed the inside running rail at approximately the 800M-mark.

At about the 700M-mark, PREMIUM RUSH (J Daniel) shifted out to obtain a clear run and in so doing, carried TILSWORTH MICK and PACIFIC MYSTICAL (SU Lim) wide.

At approximately the 1100M-mark, QUASAR (App A Saran) had to steady in a tightly-bunched field.

At about the 1000M-mark, SOMAR (S Rosmizan) clipped the heels of BALL AND CHAIN    (J Daniel).  Shortly thereafter, MERCURIAL TURN (App WW Cheah) became crowded and had to steady when SOMAR shifted in.  Jockey S Rosmizan was shown the video of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PULAU PINANG (App YY Oon) returned having cast its off hind plate and BALL AND CHAIN returned with a speedy cut to its off hind.

IZAKHAR ECLIPSE (CK Khaw) dislodged its rider en route to the start and ran a considerable distance.  The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of IZAKHAR ECLIPSE at 5.21pm.  IZAKHAR ECLIPSE will be required to re-qualify for ORT before being declared to race again.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of VEGAS SHOWGIRL, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of VEGAS SHOWGIRL revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TALENTED returned having cast its off fore and off hind plates and HAALAND returned having cast its off hind plate.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey AM Aizat pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 41(6)(c)(ii) for using his whip on VEGAS SHOWGIRL when this filly was out of contention.  Jockey AM Aizat was fined RM500/-.
