RACE 1 (R338) CLASS 5(B) – 1400M

Emergency acceptor, CHER was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

Trainer HS Lim was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to remove the use of cross nose-band and blinker pacifier on SONG RIVER (App WW Cheah) within the stipulated time.

BIG BUS (App P Haris) jumped awkwardly outwards at the start.

ULURU (HS Gill) was restless, hesitated and fly-jumped, resulting in its rider losing his near side iron and was slow into stride.

DAWNBREAKER (V Espindola) was slow into stride.

Passing the 700M-mark, MAGIC SEVENTY TWO (App A Azizi) dipped, dislodging its rider.  App A Azizi reported that the gelding clipped the heels of ALWRICH (HK Cheng).  App A  Azizi was checked by the Club Medical Officer and was certified fit to continue riding for the remainder o the day.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ULURU, POWER EXPRESS (AK Lim) and DAWNBREAKER revealed no obvious abnormality.  DAWNBREAKER which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptors, PERFECT MISSION and JET BLACK were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.

RAISE ME UP, a course scratching as it had sustained a nail prick near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

JULIUS CAESAR (M Ewe) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

BAGHDAD (Z Khairil) and FIRE AWAY (HS Gill) bumped on jumping.

Jockey KP Lim, the rider of INVICTUS WARRIOR, reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of INVICTUS WARRIOR revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of BAGHDAD, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of BAGHDAD revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of FIRE AWAY and JULIUS CAESAR revealed no obvious abnormality.  JULIUS CAESAR which raced poorly,will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey SS Vanan was questioned regarding his ride on BRING IT WIN.  He stated that his riding instruction was to race in mid-field position, however his mount was racing keenly and he was trapped wide.  His explanation was noted.  However, he was warned to ride his mount in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for HENG KINGDOM (V Espindola).

RULE THE WORLD (HS Gill) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

RULE THE WORLD and SHANGHAI CAPTAIN (KP Lim) bumped at about the 150M-mark.

HENG KINGDOM raced wide throughout the race.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MAGIC CITY (S Anandan) and HENG KINGDOM revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Stewards questioned Jockey V Espindola regarding his ride on HENG KINGDOM.  He stated that this horse was very lazy and hung out on the turn.  He was warned against the practice of covering unnecessary ground in future and was advised to ride his mount in such a manner so as to leave no room for query.

VIETNAM CAPTAIN which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

SOMAR (App A Azizi) and BLAZE PEGASUS (App Z Syafifie) were both slow into stride.

SOMAR showed no pace despite being urged.

Post-race veterinary examinations of VIETNAM CAPTAIN (KP Lim) and SOMAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

Emergency acceptor, GOOD LUCK CHARM was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

MYSTERIOUS CAPTAIN, a course scratching as it was bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Passing the 1100M-mark, MR AK (R Narendran) laid in onto DIRECTOR (App P Haris), resulting in MATILDA (App N Sharonnizam) which was racing on the inside, having to steady.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that KRATOS (HS Gill) returned lame near hind and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of TORNADO PEGASUS (App A Azizi) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey V Espindola rode his 151^st winner on GOLDEN SARDINE in this race and as such, will not be entitled to any claim with effect from Monday, 27^th March 2023.

Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for LEGEND NINETY TWO (HK Cheng).

SUPREMO LEX (App R Ruwaidy) jumped awkwardly, brushing the outside gate and was slow into stride.

SUNTZU which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

PURPLE RAIN (HS Gill) was slow into stride.

BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) showed no pace despite being urged.

At approximately the 150M-mark, SIVAJI ROCKET (App A Azizi) laid inwards under the whip and carried BARBARIAN (AK Lim) and PIT BULL (KC Tham) inwards.  App A Azizi, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, T Asogan, was shown the video of his ride over the concluding stages and was warned to keep his mount on a straight course in future, failing which action may be taken.

The saddle on SUNTZU (SS Vanan) slipped back in the running.

A post-race veterinary examination of TK STAR (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality.

An Inquiry into the riding of TK STAR (Z Khairil) will be held at a date to be fixed.   

MERRY BELL and THE GRAY MAN, which were both down 15kgs in body weight since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.

D’GREAT CHANCE (KC Tham) jumped awkwardly outwards, NEW GARDEN (AK Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped, resulting in both geldings being slow into stride.

YOU ARE GENIUS (SS Vanan) was caught wide in the early and middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of NEW GARDEN revealed no obvious abnormality.
