RACE 1 (R573) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400M

ALWRICH (KP Lim) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped GOLDEN EMPIRE             (S Saddam).

BIG POWER (HK Cheng) and MYSTICAL STAR (App P Haris) raced tight over the concluding stages.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of CHERISH, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of MY AIM (App Z Syafifie) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of CAPE LINCOLN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that shortly after the start, he shifted inwards when insufficiently clear of MY AIM, resulting in MY AIM clipping its heels, stumbled and almost dislodging App Z Syafifie.   

When deciding on the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey K Eirwan’s guilty plea and his riding record.  Jockey K Eirwan was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days with effect from Sunday 28^th May 2023 and to expire on Sunday, 18^th June 2023, both days inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (3.30 pm).

GURNEY DRIVE (KP Lim) and SACRED GALAXY (Z Khairil) bumped on jumping.

BRING IT WIN (App Z Syafifie) jumped awkwardly and thereafter raced keenly in the middle stages.  

RAISE ME UP (HK Cheng) and BRING IT WIN were both slow into stride.

Passing the 100M-mark, RAISE ME UP laid inwards away from the whip.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BRING IT WIN and RAISE ME UP revealed no obvious abnormality.  However, RAISE ME UP returned having cast its off fore plate.   

SACRED GURU, a course scratching as it was bruised near fore tendon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GEORGETOWN which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

GALILEO’S APPROACH (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and UNDER OATH        (K Eirwan) jumped awkwardly inwards, resulting in READY TO ROCK (KP Lim) being crowded and losing ground.

UNDER OATH raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of READY TO ROCK revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that UNDER OATH returned with multiple cuts on both hind legs.

Jockey KP Lim, the rider of READY TO ROCK, reported that he was hit in the face by a clod of mud at approximately the 400M-mark.  This was verified by the Stewards.  Jockey KP Lim was subsequently examined by the Club Medical Officer and was stood down for the remainder of the day.

GOOD LUCK CHARM, a course scratching as it had suffered inappetence after colic, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Trainer S Shanmugam was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for ASIAN JET (S Anandan).

As there was no suitable rider available, the Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey KP Lim as the rider of LIM’S PIPER.

BIG BUS (HK Cheng) fly-jumped as the start was effected.

LIM’S PIPER was slow into stride.  Shortly thereafter, SUPREMO LEX (App P Haris) shifted outwards and bumped LIM’S PIPER.

Passing the 800M-mark, SECKILL (R Narendran) had to be steadied when crowded for room between ASIAN JET and SUPREMO LEX.

Passing the 350M-mark, SUREMO LEX laid out away from the whip and bumped  DREAMS CAN BE REAL (Z Khairil).

LIM’S PIPER showed no pace throughout despite being urged.

A post-race veterinary examination of DREAMS CAN BE REAL revealed no obvious abnormality.

LIM’S KEYWAY (R Narendran) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

PARISBAS (R Rueven) was slow into stride.

LIM’S KEYWAY showed no pace throughout despite being urged.  A post-race veterinary examination of LIM’S KEYWAY which raced poorly revealed no obvious abnormality.   LIM’S KEYWAY will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of PARISBAS, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of PARISBAS revealed no obvious abnormality. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LOYALTY’S ANGEL (S Anandan) returned having cast its near fore plate.

App Z Syafifie who rode his 10^th winner on LADY ASTA in this race will be entitled to claim 3kg as from Sunday, 28^th May 2023.
