CAPE LINCOLN which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

CROWN DELIGHT (CK Khaw) was slow to begin.

GOLDEN EMPIRE (S Saddam) and MERMAID (S Rosmizan) were slow into stride.

A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN EMPIRE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer S Cook was questioned regarding the improved performance of SUCCESS STREET (AM Aizat).  He stated that the gelding appreciated the good track today.   His explanation was noted. 

 At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey HK Cheng, the rider of GOLDEN CRAFTSMAN, was found guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were that:

• after having had a good jump at the 1700M, he took hold of his mount from approximately the 1500M-mark to the 1000M-mark and unnecessarily restrained his mount, resulting in it losing its position and placing it where it could not race to its best advantage;
• he shifted out at approximately the 700M-mark when there was a clear run ahead of him.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the facts of this case, Jockey HK Cheng’s points of mitigation and his riding record.  Jockey HK Cheng was suspended from riding in races for a period of four (4) months with effect from Monday, 31^st January 2022 and to expire on Monday, 30^th May 2022, both days inclusive. In addition, he was fined a sum of RM10,000/- (Ringgit Malaysia Ten Thousand).  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6.10pm).

ROBBEN, a course scratching as it had sustained a stone bruise off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

App AB Riduan was stood down today when it became evident to the Stewards that there was an irregularity with his urine collection.  His Employing Trainer, HY Cheng was advised at 1.00 pm today of the situation.  The Stewards will hold an Inquiry into this matter at a date to be fixed.  App AB Riduan is not permitted to ride in races, trackwork, barrier trials and tests  until the conclusion of the Inquiry.

The Stewards permitted App S Hafis to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of BULLSEYE. 

Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of AWATERE, reported that his saddle slipped to the left hand side at approximately the 600M-mark and that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of AWATERE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of SILVER SIXTYSIX, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SILVER SIXTYSIX revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer K Coetzee was questioned with regards to the improved performance of SING DARCI (S Saddam).  He explained that he had removed the blinker from the gelding and coupled with the good track today, these in his opinion, accounted for the gelding’s improved performance.

Emergency acceptor, SNEAKY GETAWAY was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

COPACABANA, a course scratching as it had a swollen near fore fetlock , will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MOONSHINE MISTRESS at 12.38pm acting on veterinary advice that it was lame off fore fetlock.  MOONSHINE MISTRESS will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Stewards permitted App S Hafis to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of PACIFIC MYSTICAL.

ALCATRAZ (App A Saran) jumped awkwardly outwards, making contact with FLINT STAR (S Saddam). 

Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of POLO BOY, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of POLO BOY revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, App AR Aiman, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, S Hamilton, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SACRED SURFER, he permitted his mount to shift inwards from the start, carrying POLO BOY inwards onto ALCATRAZ, resulting in UNDER OATH (R Rueven) being crowded and having to check.  App AR Aiman was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) race days with effect from Monday, 31^st January 2022 and to expire on Saturday, 19^th February 2022, both days inclusive.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (3.05 pm).

App R Nuqman, the rider of CENTURY SPEED, had to re-gather his reins at approximately the 300M-mark.

Jockey L De Souza, the rider of PULAU PINANG, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of PULAU PINANG revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that AMAZING CHOICE (App A Nazir) returned having cast its off hind plate.

The Stewards permitted App S Hafis to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of VAIN TYCOON. 

SOMAR (S Rosmizan), SUNNY STAR (S Saddam) and SHENG PROISIR (App I Firdzriel) were all slow into stride.

App AR Aiman, the rider of NO REGRETS was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip at approximately the 200M-mark.

App I Firdzriel, the rider of SHENG PROISIR, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SHENG PROISIR revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of KRUGER (CK Tan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Stewards permitted App I Firdzriel to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of FLYING  BABY.

App AR Aiman, the rider of PLACE YOUR BET was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for dropping his whip at approximately the 200M-mark.

App AR Aiman, the rider of PLACE YOUR BET and App I Firdzriel, the rider of FLYING BABY both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of PLACE YOUR BET and FLYING BABY revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of ARAGORN (F Yap) revealed no obvious abnormality.  ARAGORN which raced poorly will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The Stewards permitted App I Firdzriel to replace App AB Riduan as the rider of PENNSYLVANIA.

Jockey KC Tham was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission to ride 1½ kg over on DAWNBREAKER  within the stipulated time.

TUN O’REILLY (S Rosmizan) was slow into stride.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of PENANG MAN, reported that his saddle slipped back at approximately the 400M-mark.

DARCI SUPER (App AR Aiman) and PARISBAS (SS Vanan) were both slow into stride.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of MARTELLO, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of MARTELLO revealed no obvious abnormality.
